Nicholas Briggs (Reader) Nicholas Briggs has been a prolific Doctor Who contributor since 1999, when he began work on the Big Finish Doctor Who audio dramas, for which he has written and directed extensively and is now Executive Producer. Nick is also an actor, and since Doctor Who’s return to television in 2005, he’s worked on set with all four of the new Doctors as the voice of the Daleks (also providing the voice of the Cybermen, and other aliens). Having spent most of his life in London, Nick now lives in Dorset with his wife and son, where he hopes life will be more peaceful... But, so far, London keeps dragging him back.

Jon Pertwee, Peter Davison and Colin Baker are among the readers of these 12 stories from the worlds of Doctor Who.

Terrance Dicks (Author) Terrance Dicks became Script Editor of Doctor Who in 1968, co-writing Patrick Troughton’s classic final serial, The War Games, and editing the show throughout the entire Jon Pertwee era to 1974. He wrote many iconic episodes and serials for the show after, including Tom Baker's first episode as the Fourth Doctor, Robot; Horror at Fang Rock in 1977; State of Decay in 1980; and the 20th anniversary special, The Five Doctors in 1983. Terrance novelised over sixty of the original Doctor Who stories for Target books, including classics like Doctor Who and the Abominable Snowmen and Doctor Who and the Auton Invasion, inspiring a generation of children to become readers and writers. He died in August 2019, only weeks before the publication of his final Doctor Who short story, ‘Save Yourself’, in The Target Storybook. He has also voiced the Doctor for over 140 Doctor Who audio stories for Big Finish Productions.

Doctor Who: The Visitation

The Fifth Doctor must stop the Terileptils from causing chaos, in a new edition of a Doctor Who classic.

Trying to get Tegan back to Heathrow in 1981, the Doctor brings the TARDIS to the right place, but over 300 years early – in 1666. They are not the only visitors as Death stalks the local woods, complete with cloak, scythe and a skull-like face. 
 
In fact, ‘Death’ is an android brought by a group of alien Terileptils whose spaceship has crashed. Criminals and fugitives from their own race, they now plan to take over Earth. With Adric and Tegan captured, the Doctor and Nyssa try to deal with the deadly android, and a group of local villagers under the control of the Terileptils. 
 
But even if they succeed, can they prevent the Terileptils from unleashing an even more deadly from of the Black Death? 
 
 This novel is based on a Doctor Who story which was originally broadcast from 15–23 February 1982.

Recently he's appeared in episodes of the audio version of Dark Shadows and numerous Doctor Who audio projects, including an award-winning one-man play, Doctor Who: A Full Life, and a forthcoming quartet of new adventures starring alongside Tom Baker.

Valentine Dyall (Reader) Valentine Dyall was best known as the narrator of the classic BBC radio horror series Appointment with Fear. Referred to as 'The Man in Black', he hosted nine series of the show between 1943 and 1955. In a career spanning over 40 years, he appeared in over 100 films and TV programmes, including The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, Treasure Island, Secret Army and Doctor Who. He died in 1985, aged 77.

Following a spot of uncharacteristic intoxication, the Doctor wakes to discover that the TARDIS has materialised in the service ducting of the Vipod Mor, a huge craft which is itself floating in deep space. Furthermore, the console has detected time spillage: someone or something is tampering with time! Such experimentation could not only damage the Space/Time continuum but destroy the past and future history of the Universe. The Doctor and Peri board the craft to investigate.   Time experimentation isn’t the only illegal operation being conducted on board. A number of valuable works of art have been stolen from those planets which the craft has visited, and two rather suspect policemen are patrolling the ducting in search of the intergalactic art thief.   Soon Peri has been detained by the police, the Doctor is interrogated about the secrets of Time travel and everyone has to suffer the on-board computer's split personality.   So is there anyone left to stop the spiteful captain cultivating and unleashing a killer disease?

The TARDIS materialises aboard the Vipod Mor, a galactic survey ship captained by the repulsive Orlous Moston Slarn. 
 
Things are not going well on board the spacecraft. A mysterious killer stalks the infrastructure, and a junior officer - whose body is four years older than his brain - commands its bridge. The craft's computer seems to be developing its own distinctive personality, and Slarn threatens to vent his vindictive anger on his crew. 
 
Soon the Doctor and Peri stumble on a shocking secret, upon which depends the fate of the entire Universe... 
 
Reader Jon Glover played Shelligbourne Grant in the original BBC Radio 4 drama on which Eric Saward's 1986 novelisation is based.
