About Elli Ioannou

Elli Ioannou is an international, award-winning fashion photographer, photo-media artist, educator and mentor based in Paris. Born in Cyprus and raised in Australia, Elli relocated to Paris in 2016 for personal and professional expansion. That same year, she became officially accredited with La Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode for Paris Fashion Week, covering haute couture, men’s and ready-to-wear. She has written and delivered fashion, film and photography for Masters and undergraduate programs in Australia and Paris, notably for Paris College of Art and The New School – Parsons Paris.
Elli’s fashion photography has appeared in premium public and trade magazines in both Europe and Australia. Notable international distinctions for her photo-media artwork include the Luciano Benetton Imago Mundi permanent collection and book: Looking Down Under: Contemporary Artists from Australia (2015). She was also an official participant in Nuit Blanche Melbourne, and was one of 100 artists published in Vivienne Westwood’s book, 100 Days of Active of Resistance.
Elli has also held several solo and group exhibitions in Australia and Europe. Notable awards include winning the PX3 photography prize in France and winning the BMW fashion photography awards. She has also received multiple nominations for the Black and White Spider awards in the UK.
Working at Paris Fashion Week was Elli’s gateway to discovering Paris from a unique perspective: from historical and modern architecture, to learning about fashion as art, and design, all had the same quality in Elli’s eye – beauty. This is the aesthetic that has been the subject of many of Elli’s exhibitions and is at the heart of her creative practice
